Harrison Pensa supports London VOLT Hockey

Harrison Pensa Personal Injury Lawyers is proud to sponsor the London VOLT Hockey team, an inclusive and exciting sport that is gaining popularity in the community.

Why Support VOLT Hockey?

Inclusivity: VOLT Hockey is designed for individuals of all ages and abilities, making it a truly accessible sport.

Community Growth: By supporting VOLT Hockey, we are helping to grow the sport in London and provide more opportunities for players to compete with other teams in Ontario.

Positive Impact: VOLT Hockey is presented by Variety – The Children’s Charity, demonstrating its commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children and youth.

What is VOLT Hockey?

VOLT Hockey is an accessible form of floor hockey using a battery-powered adapted chair. It’s a great way to get active, have fun, and meet new people. The London High Voltage Club was established in 2021 to provide local players of all abilities with the opportunity to participate in an inclusive sport. Students looking for volunteer hours and referee experience are also encouraged to participate.

The team is spearheaded by Carrie and Steve Orchard whose son, Ethan, is among the players looking to grow the sport.

“It’s a sport that I can do by myself. Yes, I need a strap to hold me upright and I need a lift to get in. But once I’m in, I’m as happy and good to go” Ethan said.

“It’s cool because I can move it the same way I basically move my wheelchair.”

In VOLT Hockey, two teams each have three players on the indoor court at a time. There are currently eight clubs in Ontario, with the next local tournament scheduled for March. The local team is based at the Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre.

Want to Try VOLT Hockey?

London VOLT Hockey is hosting two Try-It-Days in London and St. Thomas to attract participants and to raise awareness and support for this inclusive form of hockey that’s reliant on donations and sponsorships.
