J. Douglas Skinner
Doug Skinner is a partner and litigator with HARRISON PENSA™ whose practice focuses on commercial litigation, estate litigation and construction liens.
Doug’s commercial litigation clients range from small family operations to large multinational companies, their shareholders, and their directors and officers, who turn to him on a wide range of corporate legal matters requiring legal guidance and assistance. Contractors, subcontractors and property owners also engage Doug to help them with construction lien issues.
National charities, trustees, beneficiaries, various charities, institutions, and individual family members seek out Doug’s advice on all matters relating to disputes, conflicts, and full-scale litigation over a will, estate or trust. He has also acted as the agent for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer to protect the interests of minors for many years.
Like many Harrison Pensa lawyers, Doug is actively involved in his community. He is a Past President of the Middlesex Lawyers Association, he has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law, he is active in his children’s School Council, and he has coached youth soccer in London.
But above and beyond career and community, family is the most important thing in Doug’s life. All of his four children are active in sports, and so he can usually be found at the soccer pitch, at the arena, at the basketball or volleyball court, or at the dance studio. Whenever he has a spare moment, he makes sure to spend it with family.
