Daniel Hynes is an associate lawyer in the Personal Injury Law Group at Harrison Pensa. His practice focuses on plaintiff’s personal injury, medical malpractice, litigation and dispute resolution.
Daniel has trial experience before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in complex medical malpractice litigation, and has appeared as junior counsel before the Federal Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal. Having gone to trial early in his career, he knows what it takes to get there, and uses his experience to ensure client’s claims are dealt with in a reasonable and expeditious manner.
Daniel is a proud husband and father to a young family. He was raised in London, and knew the benefits of growing up here, which made the decision to return home an easy one. Before returning to London to pursue personal injury law, Daniel articled at an elite litigation firm in Toronto and worked at a patent litigation boutique in Ottawa. His experience in highly technical areas of litigation and his understanding of the importance of family are factors he brings to bear on his client’s files.
Daniel attended Western Law, where he was a member of the Dean’s Honour List and graduated among the top students in his class, receiving several scholarships and awards, including the Dean Ivan C. Rand Award, the J.S.D Tory Writing Prize and the Law Society of Upper Canada Prize. He also received the top mark in several courses, including statutory interpretation, and administrative law (tied), among others.
Prior to law school, Daniel attended Queen’s University in Kingston and obtained an undergraduate biology degree with honours, and returned to London to attend Western University where he earned a Master of Microbiology & Immunology degree, receiving various graduate research awards in the process.
