Chris Hamber is a partner with the Business and Financial Services Group at Harrison Pensa. His practice focuses on financial services, corporate and commercial law, agri-business and commercial real estate and land development. His professional priority is to be a trusted and service-oriented advisor to his clients.
Lenders — including Canadian and international banks, credit unions and private lenders — and borrowers — primarily multi-unit residential and commercial land developers, manufacturers and institutions — turn to Chris for his experience and advice in a wide range of secured commercial transactions. In addition, U.S. banks regularly seek his counsel with regard to making loans in Canada and for U.S.-Canada cross-border loan work generally.
Taking advantage of London’s strategic location in the agri-business sector, Chris has developed a strong agri-business practice, acting for large-scale producers, lenders and borrowers in the agricultural sector, and commodities marketers. He is Ontario counsel for the largest agricultural real estate investment trust in Canada.
Chris, like many other Harrison Pensa lawyers, is heavily involved in the community. He is currently the Board Chair of the London Heritage Council and is Past President of the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre. He acted as legal counsel to London Optimist Sports Centre in connection with its acquisition and construction of a multi-million dollar indoor recreation facility.
Chris’s top priority is his wife and three children, each of whom is highly active in sports and keep him very busy outside of work. He stays fit by running, lifting weights, and playing numerous sports. Soccer is his sporting passion: he plays masters soccer for Forest City FC and is a lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC.
