Bayly Guslits is an associate with the Family Law Practice Group at Harrison Pensa. Bayly represents clients, both private and legal aid, in all matters related to separation or divorce, including division of property, custody, access, and child and spousal support. She also assists clients in drawing up cohabitation agreements or marriage contracts. Clients turn to Bayly for help dealing with the Children’s Aid Society, adoption, surrogacy, and alternative reproductive technology.
Bayly knows that going to court can be intimidating and costly. She is happy to help clients resolve problems through alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation, or litigation when it is appropriate. Bayly always strives to use efficient and cost effective methods to help clients resolve their family law issues.
Born and raised in London, Ontario, Bayly received her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Western Ontario. Bayly then ventured to Ottawa for law school, where some of her favourite activities included observing hearings at the Supreme Court of Canada and cycling along the Rideau and Ottawa rivers.
During law school, Bayly worked at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic in the Women’s Division, where she assisted women who had experienced sexual violence in their applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. Bayly has volunteered with a local crisis centre for abused women and trained hundreds of university student leaders on issues relating to sexual assault awareness, disclosure and sensitivity. She has also been an active volunteer with Lawyers Feed the Hungry in London and Toronto. In her spare time, Bayly enjoys hiking, kayaking, skiing, and trying out new vegetarian recipes.
