Arifa Serter is an associate lawyer in the Insurance Services Group and Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group at HARRISON PENSA™. Her practice focuses on insurance defence work and subrogated claims. Arifa also manages a general litigation practice, helping her clients to achieve a favourable outcome in an expeditious manner.
Arifa was raised in London and has volunteered extensively in the community, including at the Children’s Aid Society and at the Boys & Girls Club. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology from Western University, and obtained her law degree at the University of Ottawa. While attending law school, Arifa worked at the community legal clinic in Ottawa in their family law department and as a personal support worker for youth with disabilities. Arifa has also published several articles on immigration reform while working at a law office in New York. Outside of the office, Arifa provides pro-bono legal services to H.Appi, a non-profit organization that aims to de-stigmatize addiction and mental illnesses in the Middle East and Africa.
When she is not serving her clients, Arifa is very active at her local gym and likes to explore new hiking trails. She is also fluent in Turkish and Bosnian.
