Too many students face barriers that put them at risk of dropping out before graduating high school. That’s why Harrison Pensa LLP is honoured to sponsor a REACH 2025 fundraiser to support an early outreach conference initiated by the Western University Student Council (USC). The conference will introduce approximately 250 Grade 7 and 8 students from London and the surrounding community to experience post-secondary education opportunities in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Empowering future generations
REACH, taking place over three days in May, hosts students in residence while they participate in various educational and leadership activities, including mock lectures, financial planning workshops, and sessions focused on allyship, self-esteem, and wellness. This invaluable program allows students to explore their potential, gain confidence, and set a solid foundation for their academic journey.
Commitment to community
At Harrison Pensa LLP, we recognize the critical role that community sponsorships play in supporting youth development and education. By investing in REACH, we are investing in the next generation of leaders.
“At Harrison Pensa, we are committed to fostering opportunities for young minds to learn, grow, and dream big,” said Jennifer Wall, a Partner at the firm who leads our Family Law practice. “REACH provides students with a glimpse into their future possibilities, helping them gain confidence and direction. We are proud to support a program that has a lasting impact.”
Leadership and mentorship
A key aspect of REACH is the role of Leadership Developers, including Western University students, who work in pairs to mentor small groups throughout the conference. These volunteers exemplify integrity, enthusiasm, and encouragement, fostering an environment where younger students can thrive. Many Western students find that the program not only benefits the youth they mentor but also provides them with meaningful personal growth and leadership experience.
Community sponsorships matter
The USC underscores the importance of community involvement in programs like REACH.
“Without the generosity of sponsors like Harrison Pensa LLP, REACH would not be able to provide such an impactful experience for young students,” said Daniel Klapper, USC Vice President of Student Services. “Community partnerships ensure we can continue fostering leadership, inclusion, and personal growth among delegates year after year.”
As REACH continues to inspire, Harrison Pensa LLP is proud to stand behind initiatives that open doors for students and create lasting change.
