David Canton is a business lawyer and trade-mark agent with a practice focusing on technology issues and technology companies.
David advises on social media law, anti-spam law, information technology and e-business matters such as software licenses, outsourcing agreements, consulting agreements, intellectual property, technology transfer, privacy, internet, web site and e-business issues - both for those creating and for those using technology. David also leads the Social Media and Intellectual Property and Technology Law groups and all matters related to Privacy Law.
Prior to joining HARRISON PENSA™, he was Senior Corporate Counsel for a major financial institution where he focused on information technology law.
David is the co-author of Legal Landmines in e-Commerce, McGraw-Hill, 2002, authors his own blog at www.canton.elegal.ca and is a regular contributor to the Slaw.ca blog. Previously, David also wrote a column entitled “Techwatch” in the London Free Press which also appeared in the Canoe Technology section.
