Carbonless Paper Sheets Price Fixing

On February 3, 2006, Harrison Pensa LLP issued a statement of claim against Cascade Fine Papers Group Inc., Coast Paper Limited, Domtar Inc. and Unisource Canada, Inc. on behalf of all purchasers of carbonless paper sheets in Ontario between at least October 1999 and at least September 2000 and Quebec between at least January 2000 and at least December 2000, the exact dates being unknown. The action relates to a conspiracy between the defendants to artificially maintain and/or increase the price at which carbonless paper sheets were sold. It is alleged that all consumers of carbonless paper sheets during the relevant timeframe were overcharged as a result of the conduct of the defendants.
Harrison Pensa LLP and Siskinds LLP prosecuted the matter.
Status of the Proceedings
A settlement agreement was reached with the Defendants on February 29, 2008. Click here to review a copy of the Settlement Agreement.
Regional Senior Justice Leitch certified this matter on April 8, 2008 and approved the Notice to class members.

Settlement Administration
